ABOUT THE AUTHOR AND IllinoisLUSTRATOR Christy Hale decided to become an author and illustrator when she was ten years old. At the time, she and her best friend enjoyed acting out books they loved, like Harriet the Spy. Christy worked as an art educator, and then in publishing as a designer and art director before becoming an illustrator and author. Today she lives in Northern California and continues to work as a writer, illustrator, designer, and art director. She gives educational programs for children and adults and teaches an online course, Writing for Picture Books.
