Dissertation note: Thesis Columbia Biblical Seminary and School of Missions 2011. Abstract: This dissertation's focus explores the funding of African-American church plants within the Southern Carolina Baptist Convention (South CarolinaSBC). The primary research question is, "How does external SCSBC funding affect the success and health of African-American church plants?" The principal beneficiaries of this work are church planters who are either initiating their first work or are experienced and planting again. The factors critical in planting may have value in revitalizing declining or plateaued churches.
