This is a work of fiction about a real person, 'a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews' who 'came to Jesus by night'. However, it is impossible to write such a book without making assumptions, and some explanation to the reader is therefore due.
'Who came by night' is a novel that dramatizes the depth of the question [If you were a sophisticated Western man living in Judea in the time of Jesus, what would you have made of the events that transpired, which challenged ordinary logic, centering on the character of a real person, this book is the study of a man brought to the breaking point, and of the strain that broke him.
