"This work of Anania Sanahnetsi, one of the leading Armenian theologians (11th century), is his main dogmatic writing. Continuing the dogmatic lines of his predecessors, he unfolds deeper approach on several new issues: problems arising from accepting two natures, problems arising from accepting the death of only a man on the cross, and similar problems. One of his main concerns is to show that body of Christ is God, but still perfectly human. The problem of redemption by Christ's death is taken to by Anania to a more deep level than a simple retribution of human sins. He thoroughly concentrates on the meaing of the word of participation of believers in Christ's death and draws intriguing concequences. Anania analyses also the meaning of the bronze snake as an example of Christ, his death and the life that the death is giving to believers." --
