English and Hebrew.
The purpose of this book is to provide a limited verse by verse lexicon of the poetical books of the Hebrew Old Testament. The justification of this work lies in the need for a ready lexical reference for the average student of the Hebrew Old Testament. The massive Hebrew vocabulary serves as a deterrent to the reading of the Hebrew text for many students. This work meets that need, at least in the area of the difficult poetical books. It is not designed to replace the large lexicons necessary for detailed exegesis but simply to provide a means for rapid Hebrew reading with the ultimate goal of proficiency in the original text of the Old Testament.
