This little volume is the fascinating story of the World Reformed Fellowship from its early beginnings. History is too big a world, for in reality "timeline" would be more accurate. But the story is in fact a continuation of the tradition begun by the great 16th century reformers. John Calvin expressed the dream that the churches of the reformation would extend throughout the world. The reformed tradition was not merely the Scottish or Dutch expressions, but included many reformed communities including Anglicans and Congregationalist and Baptists in the Puritan tradition of England. But as pastor and theologian Andrew McGowan has expressed it, there are many strands or families throughout the world that are seeking to proclaim the best expression of Biblical theology. And this theology begins with the sovereign God who reveals Himself in the Holy Scriptures.

World Reformed Fellowship in contradiction to "council" is a "koinonia" where barriers of distance, culture and language are more easily overcome in order to establish relationship and friendships between churches, institutions and individuals. WRF seeks to provide an atmosphere in which Reformed leaders can develop relationships and trusting friendships and trusting friendships for the promotion of the Gospel in the Reformed tradition. Through committees on theological education, missions and evangelism, and conferences, such as, on sex trafficking, missions among Muslims, women's ministries, etc., WRF seeks to live out :that strengths of some might become the strengths of all". WRF meets quadrennially, with the Board of Directors (composed of over thirty members) meeting at least annually. The doctrinal basis is the Scriptures as originally given by God, inerrant in all that is claims, entirely trustworthy and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and life. In addition to the historic confessional documents of the reformation period, WRF has produced a Statement of Faith which seeks to address global issues for the 21st century. This statement is appended to this historical timeline.
