As of 1993 the story of Gospel Recordings continues to be an ever changing one. Dialects captured on recordings now number 4,480. The most knowledgeable sources list more than 10,000 languages and dialects currently being spoken. More then ever, people of the Lord's choosing are needed to do pioneer work of recording the remaining languages right where they are spoken. These recordings, with their clear Gospel message, reach around the world to people who may never learn of salvation in Christ by other means. Illiteracy, one of the great obstacles of evangelistic endeavor, is overcome by the Holy Spirit's use of telling tracts in many tribal groups. Missionaries, with primary responsibility to one tribe, are able to minister in other languages to the other tribe which live nearby.Through the Lord's faithful provision over the years, millions of records and cassette tapes have been produced and provided without charge for use by His servants throughout the world. The advance continues - new areas of the world are being entered - new centers are being established - improvements are being made in hand-powered cassette players - more languages are being captured - and the Lord in His grace keeps on using weak vessels to display His strength to th peoples on the earth. Gospel recordings is now in its 54th year and the Mission's goal remains the same - to make the Gospel on recordings available to every nation and tribe and tongue and people. Unaltered, too, are the means by which this work is carried on - complete dependence on the Lord for wisdom, strength, direction, and the supply of every need. Praise God for His Holy Spirit who continues to transform these inanimate recordings into powerful messengers of the Gospel, changing lives as Jesus Christ is proclaimed in the remote and neglected areas of the world.
