Abstract: A number of everyday problems faced by you and your loved ones can be solved by collecting data and then analyzing the relationships among different factors. This textbook will help you perform data analyses to understand these relationships. This volume, Volume One, starts with easy and fun models to help you gradually familiarize yourself with the subject. Part I, comprising three chapters, introduces elementary topics in econometrics. Chapter 1 reviews basic statistics and primer Excel operations. Chapter 2 offers the first linear model of simple regression analysis. Chapter 3 extends the model to multiple regressions. Part II, also comprising three chapters, guides you into intermediate topics in econometrics. Chapter 4 discusses modeling issues and regression problems in cross-sectional data. Chapter 5 analyzes three simple dynamic models for time-series data. Chapter 6 introduces panel data and simple techniques to handle this type of data.
