Laozi, according to the legend, was a famous thinker at the end of BC 220. His name, year of birth and death have no veracity. "Laozi" is an important representative of the Taoism. The book was finished at the Warring States period. It is the product of the great social changes in the transitional period from slavery to feudal society in China.
