"In this training video, Insoo Kim Berg demonstrates Solution-Focused Therapy in an actual therapy session. Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) emphasizes clients' existing strengths and skills instead of problems and psychopathology. You will observe SFT originator Berg's optimistic and supportive therapy style, and her faith that however difficult or desperate the client's situation appears to be, by tapping into the clients' internal resources she can help them make positive changes in their lives. You will understand the key concepts of Solution-Focused Therapy, including assuming the client as expert, and focusing on strengths and solutions rather than problems and diagnoses; learn how to respond to clients by using their words, mirroring their skills and assets, and reframing problems into solutions; and learn how to apply solution-focused techniques including the Miracle Question, scaling, and exceptions to your own therapeutic work with clients. Intended for students and practitioners in clinical psychology, counseling, social work, and related health professions."
