This film is an outgrowth of a College of Charleston undergraduate Anthropology course entitled "Anth 490: Research methods in expressive culture" taught Spring 2010 --
This is a student-made film that features interviews with members of the Gullah/Geechee community. It features Elder Carlie Towne, Ron Daise, Carolyn "Jabulile" White, and "Queen Quet" and others, talking about their experiences, dreams and hopes for the future of the Gullah/Geechee people, their language and their culture.
Film premier was at the College of Charleston, South Carolina, on October 27, 2011 and it was featured in the 2012 Gullah-Geechee Film series at the Charles Pinckney National Historic Site --
