This study focuses on the effective evangelism practices in two selected Southern Baptist Churches in Columbia, South Carolina. Considering the fact many chuirches are declining or have plateaued, this study sought to discover practical, effective strategies and techniques that has contributed to the overall growth of the churches by baptism and conversion increase. The primary research questions were, "What are the effective evangelism practices in selected Southern Baptist churches in Columbia and how are they taught in these churches?" and "How is evangelism promoted in strong selected Southern Baptist churches in Columbia by the leadership (Pastor, Ministers, Deacons, and members) of the church?" The Precedent Research gives a review and foundation from the early church's teaching and experience in evangelism, discipleship, missions, pastoral leadership, and church growth to the present. A closer look was given at the causes and effects of little to no obedience and commitment to the Great Commission. A significant finding in the case study was that even though the two selected Southern Baptist churches were different in age of the church, style of worship, and emphasis on missions abroad, both placed high emphasis on the importance of conversion and baptism. Based on the results of the study, the following has contributed to an increase in conversions and baptism rates in both churches : a) the ability to receive a clear vision from God, b) effectual fervent prayer, c) emphasis on diversity, d) involvement in local and global outreach, e) training leaders and laymen in sharing the gospel effectively.
