"Dr. Eilat Mazar of the Institute of Archaeology of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem has been excavating ancient Jerusalem for more than thirty years, publishing numerous books and articles on the subject. Between 1981-1987, together with her grandfather, Prof. Benjamin Mazar, she co-direceted the Ophel excavations. Since Prof. Mazar's death in 1995, she has headed the extensive project of publishing the findings from his 1968-1978 Temple Mount excavations. Between 2005-2008, she headed the excavations on the summit of the City of David, with her most recent project, from 2009-2011, as director of the renewed excavations at the Ophel."--Publisher's description.
