The purpose of this dissertation is to discover the influences that motivate, or de-motivate, national church planters to persevere in their mission to plant churches in Moldova. The study seeks to discover from a Moldovan perspective what helps church planters stay the course and what tempts them to give up. Research showed the most important factor is the church planter's personal relationship with God. Church planters are also motivated by recognizing people's needs and encouraged when they see these needs met and lives changed. In the area of training, practical ministry assignments and learning biblical principles were found to prepare church planters for motivation and endurance. In addition to training, providing a healthy support network was a vital ingredient in maintaining motivation.
